Mentioning the ring metal would have helped to answer it more appropriately. Some metals like White Gold, Rose Gold, Sterling silver are formed after alloying the pure metal with other cheaper metals like nickel, copper and others. These metals might be causing a problem for you.

A rash does not have to itch for it to be an allergic reaction. You are probably allergic to one of the metals in the ring. Nickel is a metal that many people have allergies to. Take the ring off and clean the area. After the rash goes away try the ring out on another finger but keep it clean.

You could have skin oil or sweat creating a yeast rash in that area. It could also be irritation from rubbing against the ring.

Is this a ring you have worn for a long time without a problem? If new, you may be sensitive to a metal in the alloy. Nickel is often the culprit. If old, and you wash your hands with it on, soap may be getting caught underneath and bothering you. Could you be using a different hand soap?

Your either Allergic and will start itching shortly. This often happens if you have sensitive skin or the metals retain certain allows from the processing of the metal. The other cause of this issue is far less appealing: Your ring is fake should you continue to wear it you'll soon get a green ring that will poison your skin
