I have a lump that showed up this morning - its rectangular shaped, dark pink in color, hard, and hurts. What is this?

If the lump is on your skin, this could be a sebasceous cyst. The human skin is covered with sebaceous glands, and these sometimes become clogged and inflamed. This should heal on it's own.

This is either an infected area from an abrasion, or it is an allergic reaction to an exposure at that location, or it is the result of an insect bite such as spider bite. If it still hurts or you are running a fever, see a doctor.

It could be a bump. I would watch it for a few days and see if it goes away. If it does not go away then you might want to go see a doctor.

This is most likely a bug bite. It may be the result of trauma that you don't remember - bumping or scratching yourself, or a contact allergen.

I put hot rags on it a few times over the 3-day weekend and I went to look at it in the mirror and I guess I pushed it and A LOT of stuff came out've it! My mother looked at it and said it was some type of cyst..
