The best way that i can think of is to use a home use metal detector. Otherwise you could call in a professional. Either that or confront the person you suspect of planting it.

You can hire a professional to look for one. A lot of professionals work for corporations but some are private. Sometimes you can find one if you notice a change to your house, like nay new lamps or plants. You can find out if there are police reports of other bugs in your area.

this is how you tell if theres a listening to device in your house. they put out a small radio signal and you can get a device to measure that signal
