What do you need a spotting scope for? Depending on this you can set what magnification you want and your budget. Do you need a small one or a large one with lotsa features? Set your budget and then compare what is available.

Remember - magnification and zoom are 2 different parameters. It's basic physics, but don't mess the two up when you choose your spotting scope.  add a comment

Hi, Simply drop into your local store and start looking through all the scopes they have. When you see through the right one your eyes will tell you and your heart will sing a song! What I mean is - hold, use and test a scope before you buy it!

Choose the type of lens carefully buddy. If it's gonna be for rough use, then get scratch resistant lens. If you need to use it in the dark or in twilight get a spotting scope with better light gathering (usually means a bigger lens! )
