Step1: Rent compression tester. Step2: Call a buddy over to help you with test, it is easier with two people. Step3: Unhook ignition wires. Step4: install compression tester into first cylinder (remove spark plug) Step5: Crank engine for ~10 seconds, have your friend get reading. Step6: Repeat with other cylinders

Put vehicle on Ram. Switch off engine & take out one injector & fit the compression tester guage. ensure that the guage is indicating zero & that perticular piston is at bottom dead centre. Then slowly rotate the engine with the help of spanner. As the piston moves to Top Dead Centre, the guage will indicate the pressure ratio.

Use a tester on each cylinder and set the engine so both valves and completely closed. Then turn the engine slowly. It should show pressure and hold it.

most compression checks have to be done at the spark plug hole. it is good to check with a mechanic to see what the compression rate should be.it varies on different engines.

Start by buying good quality compression gauge. Install it in each cylinder making sure to get a good seal. Crank the engine over a few times and record the results for every cylinder. Then compare all the cylinder to make sure the compression reading is within the manufactures specifications.
