Contrary to earlier findings it has been determined that catheter ablation is safe for cardiac patients. It was once thought that this procedure damaged cardiac nerves and actually increased heart rate. Now this treatment is standard to treat different cardiac conditions. Ablation is often the main treatment for an abnormal heart rhythm.

As long as the ablation procedure is recommended and done by a physician, then it should be safe. But we all know that no medical procedure is 100 percent safe without risks. Medical ablation such as dermabrasion is often low risk. However, other procedures such as surface ablation of the larynx, heart or brain have increased risk.

Ablation is extremely safe. The recovery time is fairly rapid and there are minimal side effects from the surgery. Ablation is also one of the least invasive procedures.
