It depends on where you live. Most places in the US prefer you be at least 16, and have a few thousand hours of study at a school. Some state requirements are as high as 23 years old, so make sure to find out your state's requirements before going further.

This depends on your state, most are around 18, some are younger such as 16 or 17. In Utah, where I am, you can get a license at 17 years old.
