You might think you need salad for 100 but most people won't eat the salad. People alway say they want to eat healthy but they don't. Go to a GFS and you can buy a large condensed bag of lettuce, pre-washed, it will be cheaper then cutting up lettuce and it will easily feed the 100 people.

100 people will eat approximately 30-40 pounds of salad. This can be portioned by measuring the ingredients upon purchase. Err on the heavier side, however, when buying the ingredients, to make up for spoilage, spillage, and seconds. Don't forget about half a gallon to a gallon of dressing!

A serving of a side salad is about half a cup; not everyone will want salad so plan on providing it for 80% of your guests. 40 cups should work.

In order to make a salad for 100 people you will need about 56 pounds of lettuce. Along with the lettuce you will need some salad dressing.

Plan on only 2 oz of lettuce per person, lettuce is a very light product. 12-14 lbs will be sufficient.  add a comment
