How much is a Bernard Buffet 1955 clown series worth?

i also have a buffet painting with a certified appraisal stating 10k. signed, initialed, and inscription in two area on the 1960 frame. but the appraiser did not indicate any of the marking. i'm still searching for completion of the painting.

Depending on its authenticity and condition I would venture to say that this item has value of a couple hundred to a couple thousand dollars. It is however, probably no more than three thousand dollars.

According to the current prices on ebay the value of the Bernard Buffet painting would be between $200 and $250

Ebay currently has a reproduction on sale for $239. Do you have a certificate of authenticity? If so it is worth more. I would find an honest art dealer and have it appraised. Many of these dealers will sell it for you for a commission. You also do not state what condition the painting is in.

on the buffet painting is the painting signed and initialed with an inscription by the art. if so it may be much more.

I found reference to several of his clown paintings selling for $550 (framed). I also found a website which was selling a large collection of his work, among which were several clowns, for the same price so there seems to be no special premium attached to the subject matter.

From what I have been able to find on Bernard Buffet on the web, I would say the 1955 clown series painting is worth approximately $300. 00.

The value of this piece can vary, but i actually had one too worth about $50. The quality and condition of the piece can affect value most.
