On average, a pediatrician requires eleven years of training. First, a potential pediatrician must complete four years in college, usually majoring in biology. Then, they must finish four years of medical school. After that, there is a one year pediatric internship, followed by two years of pediatric residency. To specialize, a pediatrician must complete an additional three years of training.

US physicians must be legally certified to practice medicine. That's granted to physicians who've graduated from accredited medical schools and demonstrated competence during periods of residency. A bachelor's degree (often a science major) is necessary to apply to medical schools. Pediatricians are specialists-- so they have additional training and residency in the specialty. A decade of higher education is realistic.

A lot. In addition to four years of undergraduate, pediatricians are medical doctors and must attend medical school. Traditionally after medical school, doctors will go through a residency program.

In total, it's usually around 8 years. You need to have completed 4 years of medical school followed by another 4 years as a pediatric resident after graduation. If you decide to specialize in something such as Pediatric Oncology, you'll most likely spend another 2-3 years in a post-resident fellowship program.

Pediatricians are doctors and have to attend six years medical school, after they finish their four years of undergrad. You'll then choose to specialize in peds and get more training in that area.

Pediatricians are specialized doctors. A doctor has a four year bachelors degree and then four years of medical school. School continues in various ways for the specialties like pediatrics. The human body (and particularly the rapidly growing human body) is a very complex system so it takes a lot of education to learn how to work with that system.

Pediatricians must have a medical degree and complete a residency in pediatrics. They are medical doctors just like family practice doctors and internists. Nurse practitioners can also specialize in pediatrics.
