Sometimes a baby will nurse for other reasons other than hunger. A baby will sometimes nurse just for comfort reasons. You can tell if your baby is getting enough to eat by the number of wet diapers in a day, as well as whether or not your infant is gaining weight.

Your baby will let you know when he is full. The total ounces varies. If you are having a hard time keeping up with baby, supplement with formula.

It is not possible to overfeed a nursing baby, so let him or her eat as much as he or she wants. Different babies will want to eat different amounts.

A baby who is breastfeed can not be overfeed. So it not really a answerable question. I say nurse as they need to.
