There can be multiple. Take a look at the monocot family of plants, especially the flowering kinds. You'll notice that the petals of the flower are really just modified leaves. In the desert, some large plants have leaves for different purposes. They have one type for gathering light, to photosynthesize. A second type (thorns) grows for protection.

Not naturally. Leaves go through phases, so they take on different characteristics at different times of the year. Some trees are grafted, usually fruit trees. These can have different leaves.
