Digital memory cards last for certain number of uses, not years, and last on average for 500/1000 uses. However, you can buy "long-lasting" memory cards which last longer.

The amount of use, how you use it (do you use the eject button or do you just rip the card out? ) and how you take care of it (don't drop a camera with a card in it, etc. ) all affect the life span. Life span=few months to years.

Digital memory cards should last forever. Unless the outside of the card is damaged, there really is no way for the card to go "bad". Continuous use could have an effect on how long the card lasts though.

A quality digital memory card should last the life of the electronic that you are using it with. However, the amount of time it lasts is mainly based upon how well it is cared for.

Digital Memory cards can last a very long time, or they can fail if they are exposed to harsh environments. Typically they last around a 1000 writes.
