Insignia is a "house brand" for best buy. Very low cost, but I have had very positive results with them. I use them for all my home theater audio components.
Insignia is not the best brand for anything. If you want a DVD player that wont break, get a Sony, Samsung or Philips. Those are quality name brands that will get the job done well.
Insignia is a brand the Best Buy actually owns and self markets. They are not necessarily a bad brand for the money, but for quality, features and overall longevity, I would go with a better brand.
