You should first do some research to see what type of doorman you would like to be... apartment, hotel, etc. Then you should see what buildings or hotels in your area have those types of position. Contact the hotel and fill out a job application.

You need to check with your state. Some states require a license and a Bureau of Security and Investigative Services registration. Others require nothing other than not hiring a felon.
