Alcohol does not directly affect your immune system. It affects your liver, which processes many of the important nutrients a person needs to remove from the food they intake. When your liver is damaged, it cannot siphon the nutrients properly, which means they don't get absorbed, and this is when the immune system can fail.

It doesn't affect your immune system immediately and in cases has been shown to aid in recovery. But, prolonged, excessive use can lead to complications in the liver that will weaken your immune system.

Your immune system is broken down by alcohol and yes it does make you slightly more susceptible to illness and infection. One or two glasses of wine wont affect it but regular heavy drinking will do.

Yes, if you drink too much it can lead to problems with your immune system, liver and lead to other health issues, which makes it easier to get sick.
