When you have used permanent hair colors, then washing should not be a problem, just don't do it on the day you did coloring. Of course, the color will slowly fade with each wash. Use a shampoo for colored hair that will help the color to last and shine longer.

If you are washing the bleach out of your hair from highlighting, rinse each foil individually with cold water. If you are washing your hair after it has been highlighted, using a professional shampoo and conditioner can help the color last and stop the color from running.
