If skin is charred or blackened, see a doctor right away! Don't break blisters. If blisters break, gently wash and apply antibiotic cream. Loosely cover with sterile gauze bandage.

Obviously if the burn is bad enough, you need to seek medical attention immediately. A local anesthetic is usually sufficent in managing pain of minor first and second degree burns. Aloe Vera sap may be applied to help sooth and heal the burn. Topical antibiotics such as Mycitracin, are useful in preventing infection to the affected area.

Rub the affected area with Silvadine cream. Remove the ruptured blisters with tweezers and scissors. You may also use tylonal, and cover with a cool damp cloth.

First, make sure that the area is clean. A shower is better than a bath, as it washes away bacteria. Use mild soap if you can or buy hibicleanse over the counter. Apply Silvadene cream and see a doctor if the pain persists.

To treat, wash gently with mild soap and water; then cover the wound and red areas preferably with Silvadene cream if available, then place a non adhesive dressing on top.
