Assuming that your child is not allergic to bees, there is little that you can do for this type of injury. An over-the-counter pain medication and ice on the afflicted location will help to lessen the pain (a Popsicle, for example, may help in this case). Be sure to keep the area clean until it has healed.

First it's important that you remove the stinger completely from the lip. Provided that the child is not allergic you really need to handle pain management. Ice on the lip can keep down swelling and reduce discomfort. If the site does not feel better within a few days an infection may have developed and will require a doctor's care.

A lip sting, like any other bee sting will go away on it's own if you give it time. It is important to not irritate the sting, just as you would avoid irritating a poison ivy wound. There are some ointments that can be put on the sting to help relieve irritation.

The best way to treat a sting on the lip is to first make sure the stinger is out. Mix baking soda and water and apply to stung area.
