Always make sure the eyes are clean and don't have a lot of gunk under them. You can ask your vet about cleaning liquids or tear stain drops if that's a problem with your dog.

To clean a cocker spaniels' eyes, take a cotton ball moistened with warm water and carefully wipe each eye from the inner corner to the outer corner. Clean the eyes once a day.

It's important to keep the dogs eyes moist. lubricating eye drops at least once a day will help prevent pigment build up which leads to blindness. Also make sure to avoid fights with other dogs or cats where they can get scratched corneas

Cocker spaniels are known for watery and mucus covered eyes. The best thing to do is make sure hair is clipped back away from the eye to avoid irritation and build up. Take a damp cloth and wipe around the eyes daily or as needed. There are also pet products available to help remove build up.

A couple times a day use a wet and warm washcloth to gently wipe away the tear stains that many cocker spaniels suffer from.

The best way to care for them is to regularly, maybe once or twice a week, take a warm wet wash cloth and wipe the eye area clean. It is really important to keep the gunk out, you can buy special stuff at the pet store but this works fine.

The biggest thing is to make sure you keep the hair trimmed away from them so that it does'nt irritate the eyes that's why they usually drain.

When the dog's tear ducts get clogged and get dark, use cottons balls and rubbing alcohol. Be sure obviously not to touch the eye directly.

Feed your dog a heaping spoonful of all natural (greek is best) yogurt every morning. They love it. It helps with the "weeping" and stops the discoloration from this problem.

Very gently wipe around the inner-corner of the cocker spaniels' eyes (avoid the eyeballs!) with a warm, wet cloth everyday.
