Grudge is a very hard thing to let go of, especially when someone has hurt us badly. However you need to eventually let these things go and give forgiveness to the person. The best way is just to understand that it happened and that there is nothing you can do.

After five years, you should be able to put things in the past. Think to yourself that it's only hurting yourself, not the other person. Move on and forget it.

Remember that because you stop being angry at a person about something, it doesn't mean you have to like them.

By first realizing that those who will hurt you most are your friends since you can not have time for enemies. Since they are as human as you are, they are bound to error and when you remember you worst mistakes, you will see them for who they are and forgive.
