You need to pull the rear wheel and pull the drums or disks. Then just locate the brake line and remove. It is much easier to release the emergency brake. The rear brake uses less force then the hydraulics do. Once you have the line disconnected you can double check and make sure you have done it right.

When you set the parking brake it just locks the rear brake together. So just pull of the wheel and the disks or drums in the back.

Depending on which year of automobile you have, the rear lights are normally accessible through the trunk. There are only a few screws holding the lights in place

92 grand marqs also has optional discs. To remove the calipers, simply loosen the two large bolts holding the calipers. then compress the piston back with a C-clamp using the old pad as a base. place the caliper on the mount, replace the bolts and hit the brakes once tocheck for contact.

An emergency brake in most cars is just a cable connecting to the rear brakes that activates those brakes with LESS force than the hydraulic system (as with a pedal). You can simply disconnect the cable.
