How do you remove musty smells from furniture?

My furniture was in storage for two months and now smells musty.

Charcoal works very well at absorbing unpleasant odors. Place an opened bag near your upholstered furniture. If your wooden furniture smells musty, place charcoal in a bowl in the drawers.

I have found that the best way to remove smell from furniture or carpeting is to use a vinegar spray. You use a light dilution of water and vinegar and spray it evenly over the furniture. It will smell like vinegar, but this smell should dissipate within a few days and leave your furniture smelling fresh.

Try placing bowls of charcoal, coffee grinds, or kitty litter inside or on top of it to remove/absorb the odor. To get rid of it you need to absorb the odor into something else.

First, you should wipe down and sanitize all of the furniture that was in storage with damp rags and Lysol. This by itself should help remove the smell somewhat. Then, douse everything in Febreeze.

The best thing to do is steam clean it and then keep spraying Febreeze on it. It will eventually get the smell out.

You need to let the furniture air out to start removing the musty smell. The furniture also needs a good cleaning. The smell probably started from something left uncleaned, and since the furniture was in storage, it didn't dissipate.
