First thing is to apply a pesticide to remove grubs from yard. You can also istall chicken wire over yard. The grass will grow over and skunks cannot dig.

This is a common problem but luckily skunk can be deterred in many ways. Just like a pesky cat or dog skunks can be maintained with things like motion activated sprinklers or ultra sound devices. Plant on of these machines in the corner of the yard that you think their coming from. These devices stop animals with high frequency sounds.

To prevent damage done by skunks, the only logical answer would be to prevent skunks from getting into your yard.
