To learn a specific song you must learn it piece by piece. One to two measures at a time is usually best, or six to eight notes. If you are refering to theory just take it slower and practice each lesson. Either way memorize each piece before moving on.

Work on learning how to play by ear. Then play your music by ear instead of memorizing it. It's a subtle difference but when you play by ear you are not trying to visualize a page of music. One way to do this is to play along with a recording.

You just have to continually listen to the same song over and over again until you are able to identify every word or part of the song.
