The number one question is whether your dog is in paint or not. If yes, and the pain cannot be managed with medication, it is time to say goodbye.

Trying to decide if your dog needs to be put down is a very difficult decision to make. If the dog is no longer eating, cannot control its bladder or bowel movements on a regular basis, or is no longer able to walk unassisted it may be time. Quality of life plays an important part of the decision.

If they become nonambulatory-can't walk-or if they are in pain. Or if they are sick enough that they don't eat...
