Supposedly there is no discrimination when it comes to hiring someone around 55 years old. Exude confidence, have a positive, enthusiastic attitude, believe in yourself and be presentable.

A 55 year old will have a lot of experience in different areas, definitely more than a college grad. Try to find a company that needs someone with experience.

Network, network, network. Get your "age" out of your head. It's just a number, don't be stuck in the past. Look professional, have an open attitude, learn new technology.

Apply anywhere that would interest you, just as you would if you were under 55 years old. Also, write up a resume that really plays up all of your work experience, life experience, and strengths. Your greatest advantage is experience, so emphasize all of the work experiences that you have had, and include a list of great references.
