A mold is usually the first step in building a GRP boat. Once the mold is made many layers upon layers of very thick fiberglass laced with resin are placed within the mold. This forms the main structure which everything needs to be tightly attached to.

They are made my steal or plastic plates. You can have glass reinforced with plastic in a boat like structer. you can assemble it together using bolts, hinges, rivets or screws. And that will also allow you to attach to the boat.
