You would need at least one four-year degree in the area of interest as well as a background in law enforcement, followed by a graduate degree in the specific field.

Most people who choose to go into this field will need to study many areas of science in college. Most students that pursue this degree will spend at least four years in a university as well as many years doing post graduate work until you become respected in the field.
