You will probably need an MBA degree and you will need to work your way up from the bottom of a company and work as hard as you are able and get promoted until you reach the level that you desire.

Being a CEO takes hard work. The best way is to move up the ladder of a company through hard work, long hours, and dedication. If you feel that you are stuck in one company and they are not giving you a chance to advance, then you may want to look for a new position elsewhere.

Being a real CEO (not just a title in a tiny business) means managing people, both to achieve company goals and politically. The prestige and quality of your business education determines where you can start on the ladder; then you must climb it, by running businesses or business units.

A CEO is basically the top manager in the company. So you'll want to arm yourself with a post-graduate degree, and a track to the high ranks in a company.
