Wholesale companies work by providing bulk items to retailers. In business you have manufacturers (those who make the product), wholesalers (the middle man; those who ship the product and sell it to the retailers) and the retailers (those who sell the product to the consumer). Most wholesalers only sell to retailers at a discounted price.

Wholesale trade is in principle work, it is selling various items, depending on the category of the firm and its functionality. Materials or products being offered in the price lists of a company, are significantly lower prices, the whole thing is selling the products in large quantities, which reduces the price of commodities.

Well they work by exporting things for cheap in China and other third world countries. Then they take these items and sell them for less than what they would sell for in the US. But they are marking up quite a bit as well. They are still making a profit.

Wholesale companies work buy selling large amounts of products for a cheaper / per unit cost. If they don't sell in large quantities then they will fail.
