Avoid bending and twisting, apply ice and heat alternately, rest, use ibuprofen for pain. Using a proper pillow for sleep is important.

don't treat it yourself, go to a physican who can have a proper look at it and do some scans

If it is small they chiropractor or othropedic doctor can give you some physical therpay exercises to do that will relieve your symtoms.

You have to consider your neuro surgery doctor and tell them how our pain , so that he will be able to make proper decisions like disk replacement.
