The first step in keeping porcelain tiles clean is regular dry dusting/ sweeping. Next, a mild cleaning solution and a rag should be used to wipe off anything that might be spilled upon them. Finally, a mild bleach solution can be used to keep the grout clean and mold-free. Call a professional for heavy build-up.

Most residentail cleaners sold use detergants or soap to clean. Cloudy or murky appearance of tiles is typically a result of soap buid up on the tile surface. Clean, rather with an amonia based product. This will also prevent streaking in the cleaning process.

Porcelain tiles are very durable, but dressing them twice a year with a good tile dressing, such as the one Electrolux makes especially for tile floors, or Durashine floor polish sold through Amway, will keep the porcelain tile floor shiny and protected from scratches and stains. Also, the grout between those porcelain tiles should be sealed.

Keep the tiles free of dirt that can cause scratches. Doormats are the first line of defense, but tiles must also be washed frequently to remove dirt that inevitably gets tracked onto them. Use nonabrasive cleaning cloths and cleaners designed especially for porcelain tiles to prevent degradation of the sealant.

Using vinegar and water will clean the tile, but there are products on the market that are specifically for cleaning porcelain and ceramic tiles.

Regular cleaning generally helps to stop oily and waxy build-up which could make your tiles look matt. In the bathroom, removing soap residue will also help with this.

Always use nonabrasive cleaning clothes for cleaning the porcelain tiles as it is specially designed. Moping with hot water for few times will help to get rid of the stickiness.

Keep the tiles clean and avoid damage by not dropping items on them. The grout should be scrubbed clean and sealed twice a year with a sealer. Some come in tubes resembling markers. The tile itself should be dressed with tile dressing such as Electrolux, applied with a floor buffer.
