Keep it properly repaired and maintained, including tune ups, oil changes, and tires in good condition and inflated. Other than that is driving style. Don't accelerate too quickly, drive real fast, or stop suddenly unless needed. Tryto limit your in city driving, the stop and go traffic can really lower your mileage.

Well just got my custom Diablew Tune put in from my diablo predator programmer so I'll be checking to see if my mileage has increased again. The power is quite noticeable throttle response is immediate and it's tightened up the shift points. Haven't had it out on the highway yet but it screams up to 50 anyway

You should tune-up the Vortec, change all engine fluids, (including transmission, motor and differential), use synthetic oil in the motor and keep tires inflated at the correct pressure.

The best thing you can do is keep it maintained. Change you oil with a quality synthetic, replace worn plugs, and make sure you air filter is clean.

Simple maintenance can go a long way. Tune-up (plus, wires, cap, rotor, air filter) help a lot. Also a better-breathing intake and exhaust can help.

Well aside from normal maintenance there are a few other things you can do. First off make sure your tires are correctly inflated. Next uses premium gas. Also check you spark plugs to make sure that they are correctly gapped. It is also good to remove any excess weight to.
