You would need to get a perm or relaxer for your hair to be silky since black hair is not naturally this way. The only way to get it silky is to have a chemical treatment done and once you do this, you can't reverse the process back.

You should start with a moisturizing shampoo followed by a deep conditioner, and a leave in. A heat serum is your best friend.

African American hair can be chemically relaxed to obtain a smoother, silkier texture. This can also be achieved by blow drying with a brush and/or flat ironing, but the texture will only last until it's washed again. Using smoothing or straightening products will help greatly. Try something with silicone in it.

The best way is to get a permanent straightning done to your hair. This treatment will help you from everyday hair straightning. Just make sure you use the shampoo they supply you.

If you have African American hair you should use a special shampoo for silky hair but you may want to cut your hair a little in the first place to do it right.
