Question by  FleurDH (26)

How do I fix a hot water boiler that is leaking from the water valve?

I am trying to save money by not hiring a handy man, can you provide me with directions on how to fix the water boiler myself?

This is not something you should try on your own. Boilers are high temperature devices that can be easily harmed. Spend the money and hire a professional. Improper work=death!

The spigot on the bottom can be replaced easily (it unscrews, be sure to use teflon tape). The cold (in) and hot (out) valves you'd need to cut and resolder.

First of all,put the boiler out off tension, then close the valve to stop the flow, then with proper tools take off the valve and buy a new one.
