Snapping turtles are wild creatures and should not be kept as pets. A baby turtle may be very cute and you may think it will be a fun pet, but I recommend that you find a nice pond nearby and take the turtle to the edge, then release it.

Keep them in a tank with a good water filter and a place for them to come out of the water to bask. You'll need a heat lamp as well. Your pet store can recommend turtle food. However, be aware that snapping turtles can grow to about the size of a manhole cover and have a nasty disposition.

The best way to care for a baby snapping turtle is to make sure that you feed it regularly with vegetables such as lettuce. You should also but the turtle into a tank with plenty of room to move and plenty of water.

It depends on were you live baby snapping tutles can be kept in glass aquarium. Food is no problem as they eat everything but it would be best if you could give mixed diet. They eat worms cricket , fruits and vegetables. It would be better to keep it in outside enclosure close to natural surroundings.
