Slot the slide and bell sections of the trombone together. Twist at the join so the pieces form a 90° angle, with the bell furthest away from you with instrument on your left shoulder. Screw to tighten. Place the mouthpiece in the remaining hole in the slide. Do not jam mouthpiece in, it will sit securely of its own accord.

The trombone is mainly two parts. You screw the slide part into the horn part. Then you put the mouthpiece into it's place. The bell part is put on the left part of your ear and the slide part is put on your right side.
