You can get ringworms from touching someone who is also infected. Also by contact with a object that the person has used like a brush hat, or towel. You can also get a ringworm by touching a dog or cat that has the infection, and from playing in the dirt.

Humans can get ringworm in a variety of ways. One way is by allowing them to live in their favorite environments, such as a rarely cleaned bathroom shower. They will develop in the shower and eventually find their way into a human host as a parasite. There they will breed, shed, and look for new hosts.

This will usually happen if you walk outside without shoes. Most of the time it is passed from animals to humans through contaminated feces.

Ringworm is transmitted from coming into contact with other people who already have it. It can make it even more likely that you will conract ringworm if you come into contact with it when you have open cuts or wounds, because this makes it even simpler for the parasite to get under your skin.
