How common is it for seniors to get AIDS?

I recently heard of a case.

It is more uncommon than someone younger due to the demographics of sexually active seniors. Seniors are in theory actually MORE susceptible due to a typically weaker immune system. No matter what age you are, always practice safe sex with any partner, and testing is always recommended. Always play safe!

It is generally not that common. Most people who contract HIV (which is the virus that causes AIDS) are in their twenties. The biggest risk factors for contracting HIV are promiscuity and IV drug use - seniors usually don't fall into either category.

If a senior participates in an activity where it possible to transmit AIDs, they are just as likely as anyone else to get AIDs.
