How can you make a hamster tube at home?

I don't want to have to buy a store bought one.

You can gather up your old toilet paper rolls or paper towel rolls that no longer have paper on them and put them in the hamster cage.

Empty toilet paper and paper towel rolls work wonders for hamsters. They are easily available and the little guys love to chew them up and nest with them.

I would imagine you could use a combination of toilet paper tubes and paper towel tubes. If you tape them together, you could build a nice hamster tube.

It really depends on how big your hamster is, if it is a dwarf size, a empty toilet paper or paper towel roll should work, if it larger, call around to your nearest fabric stores and you can ask to have their leftover large cardboard rolls that fabric is rolled onto, although you may need to saw or cut it.

Use an old toilet paper or paper towel tube. It works just the same and is super cheap. You could also use PVP piping if you had some laying about.

For a homemade hamster tube there are a few cheap possibilities. Use an empty toilet paper or paper towel roll. Another option is to find or borrow a pvc pipe. Just make sure it is clean before you introduce it into your cage.

Under your supervision, give the hamster a toilet paper tube. Sooner or later he will shred it but in the meantime it can be fun.
