Question by  Sinefey (457)

How can you lighten your roots?

I have been dying my hair blonde for a while now, but I still have dark roots. I want to lighten them so it won't be so obvious that I dye my hair, and then maybe I won't have to go to the salon quite so often.

The color of hair growing from your head is genetically encoded. Effectiveness of various root lightening methods depends on your natural color and how much it differs from the dyed color. Applying lemon juice and spending time in the sun or swimming in chlorinated water will lighten hair over time.

Use camomile shampoo. It will lighten your hair in general and also your roots. It will also delay your next visit to the salon. Good luck!

You can lighten your roots by applying lemon juice to the roots of your hair. Put the lemon juice on the roots while your hair is still wet. Then blow dry the roots. The heat and the lemon juice will have a lightening affect on the roots of your hair.
