First, you should write the letter in English. Then, I would suggest using a translation website, such as altravista babelfish (which is quite useful!) If you are skeptical about the validity of the translation, you can submit the translated article back to English to see if it translates correctly (by using babelfish or another translating website).

The best way to write a letter in Italian is to use multiple sources for translation. Write it in English first, then translate using both a dictionary and internet translator.

You can try using Google translator, but you're likely to end up with lots of mistakes. If you don't have a friend who speaks Italian to help you, you could try putting an ad on CraigsList and seeing if someone will translate your letter for a reasonable price.

The best way to ensure that your Italian is gramically correct is to first compose it in English and then find an individual who can read and write Italian translate it for you. Another alternative is to contact a local college which teaches Italian and they should either have a faculty or student who can assist you.
