Anecdotal evidence shows that eating one tablespoon of locally harvested honey per day can reduce or eliminate allergies. The honey should be harvested as near to your residence as possible.

Local, raw honey can have some effect on preventing/treating allergies, but it must be used for at least a year before you see any affect.

While research has not proven that honey cures allergies, some people find it helpful. Honey contains pollen produced by flowering plants that cause allergic reactions. By eating honey daily, you introduce the pollen into your system and slowly immunize yourself against these allergens. Make sure to eat LOCAL honey that is likely to contain pollen from plants that affect you.

In order for honey to help with your allergies, it needs to be local honey. This will contain local pollen, and consuming some daily will act like an allergy shot.
