How can I stop a cockatiel from laying eggs?

I would like to prevent my bird from laying eggs.

There is a medication found at a veterinarian that you drop into the birds mouth and it effectively elimates the ability of the cockatiel to lay eggs.

This depends. Some birds lay eggs, because they're pretty much "genetically coded" to do so, if this is the case there isn't much you can do. Other times the environment stimulates the bird to feel like it needs to lay. Do you have a nesting box/nest/material? Remove it if so, and when it lays any eggs.

It is not possible to stop your bird from laying eggs. Laying eggs is a normal part of being an adult female bird, just like activities like eating and sleeping are. You can't prevent you cockatiel from doing something that is so built into its genetics any more than you could stop a woman from having her period.
