How can I repair the gas gauge on a Yamaha scooter?

You can remove the damaged gauge by removing the bolts and screws that hold the dash in. You will remove the gauge with the two bolts from behind.

If the problem is not a pinched wire, then your two areas of concern will be the gauge display in the headset or the sending unit in the tank. Replacement of either can fix the problem, but it will require trial and error to correct the right one.
