Hold your child, comfort him, and explain in words that he can understand what will happen, and that you will be right there the whole time.

The best way to prepare your child is to try and familiarize her with doctors ahead of time. Buy a book or two about going to the doctor, read it with her and talk about it, try to role-play with her about doctors, and talk about it casually.

Talk to your child and tell him it's going to be okay. If your doctor scares him get a new doctor. Reward him for his bravery.

Try and make it a fun experience. Allow him or her to pick out some toys or favorite things to take with them in order to make the experience better.

maybe don't tell your toddler that they are going to the doctor. You should comfort them when they are scared and you can reward them if they are good you should take them out for ice cream after.
