As a former newspaper reporter... just be yourself when being interviewed!!! A reporter's job is to get the facts of the story. Journalists ask questions based on the four W's: Who, What, Where, When, Why and How. If you know those answers you'll be prepared.

Just be yourself when being interviewd for the newspaper. Do not tell them anything personal that you do not want everyone to know. Stay short and simple with answers to their questions.

The best thing to do would be to talk to the person who is going to interview you about what you should expect and what you should be prepared to speak about. That will make both of your jobs easier.

You should prepare notes on the topic you are being interview about. Tell the who, the what, the when, the where, and the why of your topic. The readers of the newspaper will appreciate knowing these facts when they read your interview.

Make sure you have your story straight and keep it consistent. Try to keep your answers short and to the point. Try not to offer opinions. Stick to the facts by all means necessary. Don't be intimidated.
