If you are lucky, you can find shells that have naturally occurring holes in them for stringing as beads or hanging as pendants. If not, you can drill holes yourself. Use a small drill bit. If you don't want to drill, you can glue your shells to metal findings that are called bails, or glue shells to earring findings.

Get some colorful cotton and an assortment of shells. With a small pin punch a hole in the shell and thread the cotton through. Do this with each colored shell, if you have some spare beads with holes in place one bead between each shell to make a nice pattern on the necklace.

You will need a jewelery making power drill which can be purchased at a local beading shop or online. Use the drill to punch holes in each seashell. Using durable beading string, string on the seashells. Try to create some sort of pattern when stringing on the seashells. Tie a double knot at the end or use a necklace clasp.

Seashell jewelry looks great when made with hemp. You can add knot patterns to make the jewelry look even better. The hemp and seashells together give the jewelry a beach like atmosphere and they work really well together and create a great look for a necklace and in some cases a bracelet.
