A good easy way for this is to make a circle of the same fruit, say grapes, then in the middle of that another circle of apples, then oranges, then top it off with a pineapple, and bananas spiking out from it. Make sure the colors contradict!

The three things to keep in mind are color, size, and squishability of the fruit. Choose fruit with colors that complement each other. Brush up on the rules of the color wheel. Keep larger fruit on the bottom, at the back, or in the center of the arrangement. Always place more delicate fruit such as strawberries or bananas on top.

Fresh beautiful fruit is the first place to start, also choose a quality attractive container to hold your fruit. Contrasting colors work well such as lemons in deep blue bowl.

Start by selecting fruits you want to use with colors that harmonize and contrast. Peel the fruit, slice or chunk into large pieces. Arrange from middle in sections across platter.

Try to blend different colors and shapes. Get a nice neutral colored basket. Then buy a variety of fruit. You'll want to only get ripe, bright, and unblemished fruit.

Ironically, most fruit arrangement are either fake or purchased from a store that crafts them, as they are more work than they first appear. If you're still set on doing it yourself, i would suggest you pick a colorful array of fruit and just go with it. The beauty of fruit arrangements comes in the spontaneity.

First, find a bowel large enough for about a half dozen pieces of fruit. You should pick fruit that is free of blemishes and relatively fresh. Do not use too much of any one fruit, as that can throw off your composition. As a rule, let no more than a third of your arrangement be any one type of fruit.
